Fashion Spotlight: Chase Johnson

Senior Chase Johnson’s style is simple, clean, and always well put together. He doesn’t rely on any specific outside influences, instead trusting his own instincts when it comes to getting dressed. Whether he’s shopping at places like H&M, Alo, Lululemon, or NovaMEN, Chase gravitates toward pieces that are straightforward but still stand out. His go-to favorite items are things like Alo hoodies and a jacket he picked up at the University Park Mall. 

“I’m a chill, laidback guy, but at the same time I can be flashy,” Chase said. He uses fashion as a way to convey his character without overthinking it, allowing his outfits reflect both sides of who he is. “I just go with the flow,” he said. Rather than overcomplicating what he wears, Chase allows his fashion choices to come naturally, creating looks that speak for themselves.

Recently, Chase placed first runner-up in the Mr. Benton Harbor pageant, where fashion played a big role. The experience pushed him to experiment with new looks outside of his comfort zone. His advice to SJHS students is simple: wear what feels right to you.
