Hi, St Joe! I'm Rose Lawrence, and I’m the Wind-Up’s Managing Editor for the 2025-2026 school year. This is my third year in Journalism here at SJHS, and I'm currently a Senior. Once I graduate, I plan to continue my education at Michigan State University, go green! Besides Wind-Up, I'm involved with the theatre program, concert choir, and tennis team here at St Joe. Outside of school, I spend my time hanging with my buds, working, or spending time with my bunny, Tobey. Violet Burritt online editor
she/her/hers
Hi! My name is Violet Burrit. I took J1 as a sophomore and couldn’t fit Wind-Up in my schedule, but now I’m back as the online editor. Apart from being a part of the Wind-up team this school year, I’m also the senior class president as well as treasurer for the student senate. Some of my favorite pastimes include hanging with my friends, reading, listening to music, and going to concerts. One of my biggest passions is being a Fangirl, so you may see my name next to a lot of pop culture pieces this year! In the future, I’m not 100% sure what I will want to do, but I am thinking somewhere in the field of psychology/pre-law. I’m so excited to see where the Wind-Up takes me this year!

I love writing about music, pop culture, and art–social commentary and opinion are my bread and butter. I’m planning on going to college in Chicago, where I moved to St. Joe from. I love spending my time watching documentaries, thrifting, and scrolling through Pinterest. I’m so sad this is my last year on the Wind-Up, but I’m beyond excited to spend a great year exploring journalism with this talented staff!

Last year, I was a part of the yearbook staff, and now I’ll be the Wind-Up’s copy editor. Aside from writing, I spend my free time baking, going to the gym, listening to a wide variety of music, and hanging out with friends all around town. My favorite TV shows are your average teenage girl sit-coms like Gilmore Girls, Friends, and New Girl. I’ve always been fascinated by psychology, and I hope to attend Michigan State University next fall to study education training. I’m looking forward to being a part of our school’s newsmagazine this year, and I hope you guys enjoy reading it!
