Fashion Spotlight: Lilly Oberst

In her element, Lilly Oberst, 12 constructs outfits to feel cute, confident, and feminine.

To Lilly, fashion is a means of channeling your inner character. 

“If I’m feeling more upbeat one day, I’ll wear something that’s a little more formal. Or if I’m feeling tired, I’ll wear something more baggy,” she said.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic early 2000s, she finds herself reaching for low-rise jeans and form-fitting tops. A favorite piece of hers is a pair of True Religion jeans she thrifted, like the majority of her clothes.

“I like to thrift from Plato's Closet and Mosaic, and

I like to shop at H&M and Hollister,” she said.

Lilly also embraces the artistic influence her twin sister, Ruby, has on her style. 

“She wears a lot of street style clothes or baggy clothes. It’s very much like a skater style,” Lilly said.

“I think my style says that I’m confident and that I don’t listen to what anybody says I should wear. I wear what makes me feel like me,” she said.
