Fashion Spotlight: Marcus Walsh
Marcus Walsh, 11 describes his style as “more on the alternative side.”
“My style includes a lot of what’s available to me. While I’d mainly describe my fashion as alternative, I wouldn’t say it particularly fits into any specific alternative subculture, but I take inspiration from different ones,” he said.
He even designs his own jewelry, with each piece being an extension of his bold and detailed style.
“I try to make a lot of my own jewelry,” he said. “I make things out of soda tabs a lot. Often, I’ll buy from jars with random items from downtown to see what I can make out of them.”
For him, fashion is more than just putting clothes together.
“Fashion, to me, is a way of self-expression, and it can form a sort of community,” Marcus said. “A good portion of my style comes from looking at the world around me and seeing what other people are wearing.”
