Fashion Spotlight: Jackson Huber

Senior Jackson Huber’s style leans into early 2000s influence, built around baggier silhouettes and an easy, laid-back feel. Much of his inspiration comes from the people around him, especially his friends, who he thrifts with regularly.

“We sort of base our picks off what all of us think, and then just make some fits from there,” he said.

Almost his entire wardrobe is secondhand, sourced from local spots like Mosaic or online through Depop. Getting dressed is usually quick and on the fly, based more on whatever feels right that day than anything predetermined.

“My outfits are completely off the top of my head. I’ll just see what colors match and then go from there,” he said.

Jackson’s favorite pieces tend to be simple, worn-in staples like his black Wrangler jeans and green carpenter pants, thrifted in Alabama, that fit into the everyday rotation without much effort.

He also sees value in thrifting beyond style.

“Go thrift and donate old clothing you don’t wear anymore,” Jackson said. “Thrifting can help support charities, and when you donate your own clothing, you may supply people in need who can’t afford the high-priced new pieces.”

Style, in Jackson’s case, comes together through instinct, simplicity, and an appreciation for pre-loved clothing.
